How do I get a plot in the garden?
Thank you for your interest in Cypress Community Gardens. The Wait List for 2024 filled up very quickly on Nov 1st and after and is now FULL. Please note that we will be starting a new application/Wait list for the 2025 growing season on Nov 1st, 2024 but not before Oct 31st at midnight. As noted on this page, if you applied last year but WERE not assigned a garden plot, you needed to re-apply for the plot/Wait list for the following years’ growing season. We were as every year unable to accept applications for the 2024 season prior to October 31st at midnight. Applicants were asked, as every year, to send their email in on Nov 1st at 12:00 am or after..
Applications for a garden plot/Wait list must be made by email on November 1st or after. NOTE: We cannot accept email applications before midnight of Oct 31st. Our Wait List for garden plots is based on the order in which requests are received on November 1st, 12:00 am and after. While current garden members are able to renew their plots, there are typically a number of plots which will come available .
The Membership Coordinator will inform the first names on the time dated application/ Wait List received after midnight on Oct 31st 2023. This process begins in November. By mid December of 2023 those first on the time dated Wait List will be informed if they going to receive one of the available plots (we need to assess which garden members will not be renewing for the new growing season first). Available plots will be assigned by the end of February 2024 after new gardeners pay the membership fee and sign their agreement to the garden rules and guidelines. New gardeners are introduced to their Section Rep(s) and to the physical plot at that time. We maintain the Wait List until Oct 31st in the fall in case any other plots come available during the growing season.
